Apply: MS Degree
To obtain an MS in Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Drug Chemistry, Forensic DNA & Serology, or Forensic Science, participants must be admitted as MS students by the UF College administering the program. Applications must be sent in complete by the term deadline (cf. Important Dates).

The MS in Forensic Toxicology is administered through the UF College of Veterinary Medicine, and upon successful completion of this program students will receive a diploma stating Master of Science issued by the Graduate School of the University of Florida. The transcripts will read Master of Science in Veterinary Medical Sciences with concentration in Forensic Toxicology.
The MS programs in Forensic Drug Chemistry, Forensic DNA & Serology, and Forensic Science are administered through the UF College of Pharmacy. On successful completion of these programs, students will receive a diploma stating Master of Science issued by the Graduate School of the University of Florida. The transcripts will read Master of Science in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences with concentration in Forensic Drug Chemistry, Forensic Serology and DNA, or Forensic Science.

Transfer of Credits Toward MS
Only 9 credit hours taken at other institutions can be applied to the MS degree OR 15 hours taken at UF in another status. These courses must be graduate level (5000-7999) and earned with a grade of B or better and the course(s) cannot have been taken longer than seven years from the term you begin as a MS student. To have credits reviewed for transfer from another University, please fax (801-504-6192) or email (jlarson@cop.ufl.edu) the following: a copy of your transcript, a course syllabus for review of what was covered in the course,and a letter containing which course(s) you would like to be considered for transfer and which course(s) you think the course(s) will replace in the Forensic Science Program. We will forward the request to the Supervisory Committee for your major who will then make a decision. Minimum requirements for acceptance:
- A baccalaureate degree in a science subject from an accredited institution. If your Bachelors degree is not in a science subject, please email Program Assistant Nancy Toffolo at ntoffolo@ufl.edu.
- An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (B grade) or better. To calculate what your upper-division GPA is, please use the following form:
Upper Division GPA Worksheet - The overall GRE score is taken into account with other factors such as undergraduate GPA, grades on other graduate courses and experience, but to be competitive, students should score around 500 on each of the verbal and quantitative parts of the GRE examination. Once you’ve taken the exam, the scores take six weeks to get to the Admissions office. Please take this into account when you schedule your exam. www.gre.org
Students who already have a graduate or professional degree from an accredited university in the U.S. do not need to submit GRE scores. - A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based, 213 on the computer-based, or 80 on the internet TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) for a person whose native language is not English, or for an applicant who graduated with a Bachelor's degree from a non-English speaking country. (Non-English speaking countries are those which are not included in the Graduate School's list of English speaking countries.) www.toefl.com

The certificate programs do not qualify for any federal, institutional or school certified private loans.
For the Masters Program you can apply for federal loans or private loans. However in order to be eligible for either type of loan except for the two private loans listed above you must be enrolled at least half time. In the fall or spring semester that is five or more credit hours and in the summer it is four or more credit hours. Unfortunately there are no scholarships or grants for the program.
