The University of Florida’s online Graduate Certificate in Forensic Toxicology* is comprised of five 3-credit courses and has been designed to meet the needs of today’s working professionals.
The program, which is provided by the Department of Physiological Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine, focuses on general and advanced principles of toxicology, forensic toxicology, and drug biotransformation. It provides a strong working background in analytical techniques, pharmacokinetics, drug elimination and toxicology. Also, it is novel in featuring modules in forensic pharmacology, doping control, postmortem toxicology, expert testimony and QA/QC procedures.

This program may be of interest to those currently working or seeking employment in the following areas: crime laboratories, medical examiners’ offices, police departments, criminal defense firms, prosecution attorneys’ offices, hospital and clinical chemistry laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and high school science programs.
Degree Completion
Upon completion of the 15-credit graduate certificate program, students will receive a University of Florida Graduate Certificate in Forensic Toxicology. This graduate certificate program is open to appropriately qualified local, national and international students.

Graduation Requirements
In order to earn this certificate, students must complete all required courses with a grade of C or higher and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must apply to graduate in their final term.
* This is a graduate certificate program as defined by the University of Florida and is distinct from certification in forensic toxicology offered by the ABFT and FTCB.
