Dennis McNevin, Ph.D. (dennis.mcnevin@canberra.edu.au)

Academic Qualifications:
Dr McNevin has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering. He is currently Assistant Professor in Forensic Studies at the University of Canberra, Australia. He has previously been Lecturer in Biochemical Engineering at the University of Sydney, Australia.

Dr McNevin has published research in the fields of wastewater engineering (University of Sydney), plant biology (The Australian National University) and forensic science (University of Canberra). He undertook a postdoctoral research project in the forensic laboratories of the Australian Federal Police. As such, he has married his interests in forensic science and the environment to produce undergraduate and postgraduate Environmental Forensic Science courses at the University of Canberra and the University of Florida.

Dr McNevin has current research projects in forensic oil spill identification, recovery of DNA from mass disaster victims, extraction of DNA from hair, forensic phenotyping and forensic population genetics.
