Computer Requirements

Students must comply with the standard UF Computer and Software Requirements.

AOL Users: The AOL browser does not properly display the web pages for the online courses nor does it function properly when using the proxy server to connect to the library. If you use AOL to connect to the internet, you must use either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser.

Proxy Server: For information and instructions about accessing the library's resources through the proxy server, please consult the library's help page on the topic.

Course Withdrawal

Students wishing to withdraw from a course during a semester should contact de-support@ahc.ufl.edu immediately. Prior to withdrawing, students should refer to the Drop - add deadlines, financial penalties and grade assignments available on the Program critical dates page. Students cannot withdraw themselves by deleting a course from their online account.

Current UF Students

If you are currently a UF student enrolled in another program and/or college, please contact us at de-support@ahc.ufl.edu to discuss enrollment options.

Emergency Contact Information Update Hold

Every semester a hold is on every student's record preventing them from earning credit for their courses until they update their emergency contact information. Please follow the directions at the following link to clear this hold: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/emergencycontact.html.

Also see instructions to clear the registration preparation hold below.

Enrollment Certification

To show (prove) enrollment in a course, submit a copy of the Registrar's Enrollment Certification form to the Registrar after the drop period (see the Important Dates page for the drop date). An example for why someone would need this form is to prove to a loan company or employer that they are enrolled in courses.

Exit Interview Hold

If you have a hold for a financial aid exit interview, you will need to clear it before you can obtain a transcript or register for any further courses. Contact Debbie Robinson at drobinson@cop.ufl.edu or UF Loans/Disbursement department at 352-392-0737.

Financial Aid

The non degree and certificate programs do not qualify for any federal, institutional or non-school certified private loans.

For the Masters Program you can apply for federal loans or private loans. To be eligible for loans you must be enrolled at least part- time. In the fall or spring semester five or more credit hours and in the summer four or more credit hours is part-time. For further information about aid for the Masters Program please contact Debbie Robinson via email at drobinson@cop.ufl.edu. For more information about Financial Aid, visit the University of Florida Student Financial Affairs Web site.

It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that financial aid is approved prior to the start of each semester, and to inform the program accountant (de-support@ahc.ufl.edu) that tuition will be paid via financial aid.

Unfortunately there are no scholarships or grants for the program.

Grade Requirements

The only passing grades for Graduate Students are a C or above. Please note C+ and C grades count toward degree only if an equal number of courses numbered 5000 or higher have been earned with B+, A-, or A, for an overall GPA of 3.0. If a grade of C- or below is earned, the student will need to re-take the course when it is offered again to have it count toward a MS degree.

Please also note, courses taken before the student is admitted to the MS status must be earned as a B grade or higher to transfer toward the MS degree. Grades earned with a B- or less will not transfer.

To earn a certificate, a GPA of 2.0 (C or better) must be kept.

To earn a MS degree, a GPA of 3.0 (B or better) must be kept.

Grades-Transcripts

Transcripts are not automatically sent to the student after each term and must be requested by the student.

To gain access to your unofficial transcript online, via isis.ufl.edu at UF. You will need your gatorlink ID username and password. Once in the system, click on 'Transcripts' and follow the appropriate steps. If you have graduated or not taken courses for more than a term, you will not have access to the unofficial electronic transcript.

For official transcripts, follow the Transcript Request Procedures (PDF) to request transcripts from the Registrar.

Entrance Exam Requirements

  • All applicants must have ETS (Educational Testing Service) send their official tests scores (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, etc.) directly to the UF Office of Admissions(code 5812) as part of the application process.
  • Only official, sealed scores, direct from ETS (Education Testing Service), are acceptable. Self-reported scores, unsealed copies of score reports or photocopies of score reports cannot be accepted as official final documents.
  • GRE scores are only good for five years; TOEFL scores are only good for two. If the applicant has not taken these tests within these time limits, he or she must retake them, unless he or she has earned a master's or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited university in the United States.
  • The over-all GRE score is taken into account with other factors such as undergraduate GPA, grades on other graduate courses and experience; but to be competitive, students should have scores as shown below taking into account which version of the GRE exam you took.
Exam Section old exam(before Aug. 2011) new exam(after Aug. 2011)
    Verbal 500  153
    Quantitative 500  144

The following is a scale comparing the two exam score ranges: http://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/concordance_information.pdf

Once you've taken the exam, please allow up to six weeks for the GRE scores to get to the Admissions office. Please take this into account when you schedule your exam. We recommend taking the exam no later than the term application deadline you want to apply for. www.gre.org

GRE exemption: Students who already have a graduate or professional degree from an accredited university, in the U.S., do not need to submit GRE scores.
