Certificate in Forensic Toxicology
for the 2010 Spring term
The University of Florida's online certificate* program in Forensic Toxicology is comprised of five three-credit courses and has been designed to meet the needs of today's working professionals. The program, which is provided by the Department of Physiological Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine focuses on general and advanced principles of toxicology, forensic toxicology and Drug Biotransformation & Molecular Mechanisms of Toxicity providing a strong working background in analytical techniques, pharmacokinetics, drug elimination and toxicology and is novel in featuring modules in forensic pharmacology, doping control, postmortem toxicology, expert testimony and QA/QC procedures. On completion of the 15-credit certificate program students will receive a University of Florida Certificate in Forensic Toxicology.
* This is a certificate program as defined by the University of Florida and is distinct from certification in forensic toxicology offered by the ABFT and FTCB.

- Recommended Course Order:

The following is a recommended course order for Forensic Toxicology:
- Forensic Toxicology 1 should be taken before Forensic Toxicology 2.
- Forensic Medicine 1 should be taken before Forensic Medicine 2.
- General Toxicology is recommended before Drug Biotransformation & Molecular Mechanisms of Toxicity and Toxic Substances.
- Forensic Medicine 1 should be taken before Forensic Medicine 2.
- Lab QA/QC and Scientific Evidence and Statistics can be taken anytime.
- Special Topics and Literature Surveys should be taken in the final semester.

Students taking UF Forensic Science courses will also be granted online access to UF's Health Center Libraries.
